2009 Episodes In The Can
The Bass Edge crew recently completed taping of two of the shows to be aired in 2009.
The first stop was Caddo Lake on the Texas/Louisiana border for an early April shoot. Aaron Martin was joined on the show by FLW touring pro Scott Suggs, who claimed last year’s Forrest Wood Cup and the first-ever $1 million purse in bass fishing history.
Caddo is an extremely shallow lake, most of which is covered with cypress trees.
“It was unlike any place I have ever fished,” Martin explained. “It’s an amazing place. I really enjoyed it and hope to return soon.”
Spring rains challenged the anglers by causing an unusually strong current in the lake.
“We had to work for the fish we caught. I learned a lot, and think viewers will learn a lot about fishing in current and around cypress trees.”
Later in the month, the crew headed north to tape on Indiana’s Lake Patoka with Elite pro James Niggemeyer. Again, spring rains had their effects; the lake was at a historic high. But the fishing was not adversely affected and the guys had a great time catching lots of bass.
The third season of Bass Edge will begin airing in January of 2009 on Versus Country and WildTV in Canada. Airing dates and times have yet to be set, but will be available on bassedge.com as soon as announced.
