Bass Edge, O'Reilly visit with race fans
Bass Edge television host Aaron Martin was in Bristol this month to hang with race fans at the Bristol Motor Speedway before the Food City 500. He joined Tom Conquergood and Jerry Robinette in the O’Reilly Auto Parts display. Conquergood is the company’s national motorsports manager and Robinette supervises regional motorsports.
“They were great guys, fun to hang out with,” Martin said. “The fans were just incredible. There are a whole lot of race fans who bass fish, and I enjoyed talking about fishing with them. I’m anxious to get back to another race.”
Martin was on hand with the boat he fishes from on Bass Edge television and the tow vehicle wrapped by Super Start batteries, sold exclusively at O’Reilly.
Meeting thousands of people, Martin said he signed about 2,200 autograph cards. The number of those race fans who were Bass Edge viewers, some of whom had come from Canada, made Martin feel right at home.
Jeff Burton crossed the finish line first beneath the checkered flag to take his first win at Bristol.
