Edge crew cooks at Bama Jam

If the Bass Edge crew ever arrives at a location to find average temperatures and a lake at pool level, they are not going to know how to handle it. This weather making machine has produced droughts, floods … and now a heat wave.

The gang was looking forward to a little something different as they headed to Alabama for the Bama Jam. What an event, three stages with music for three days.

Now the Bass Edge clan is a musical group, and there is a strong contingent of bluegrass fans. Aaron, Steve and office manager Jennifer Pennington are all big fans. Even Dr. Fish likes a good fiddle tune.

Aaron and Steve were quite pleased when the booth Bass Edge had set up with friends from Ditch Witch and O’Reilly’s Auto Parts was a short distance to the bluegrass stage. For one thing, it was covered. It offered some of the only shade available in the record heat and a good breeze blowing through made it the place to be. It would reach the vicinity of 104 degrees each day.

But the true rewards came in the form of talking with anglers and fans of Aaron and the show.

“Seeing old friends, meeting new ones, listening to great music and hanging out with Bass Edge, Ditch Witch and O'Reilly crews is hard to beat,” Aaron said.

Despite the high temperatures, everyone embraced the crowds, concerts and concessions … festive folks, fiddles and funnel cakes. The crew did make it down to the big stage to see ZZ Top play in the cool of the evening.

All in all, everyone had a great time and had a chance to visit with tons of anglers and Bass Edge fans.

“We really ought to do this more often,” Steve quipped.
