How do you measure a pole.From top to bottom,or from the top of the handle to tip?

How do you measure a pole.From top to bottom,or from the top of the handle to tip? -Jimmiy

Answer:
I can't accurately answer that question for every rod company.  I have always bought rod blanks and made a complete fishing rod out of them by adding eyes and fixating a handle. A long process for sure, but the custom work made the set-up tailored specifically for my needs.   For me, the length has been the length of the blank itself.  Keep in mind that a small section of the blank is recessed into the handle.  Therefore, when I bought a 7' blank, the blank only was measured at seven feet.  Thanks Dave Wolak, B.A.S.S.
