My hookup percent of the Spro type frogs is worse than terrible.

Question:
My hookup percent of the Spro type frogs is worse than terrible. I know the hookups are harder but there has to be something I can do to improve my current 1 hook to 50+ hits ratio. I've tried counting to 5 before setting, setting hard, setting easy by just reeling into the weight, bending the hooks out slightly, various actions of rods from very soft to broom stick and nothing seems to help. Any suggestions?

Well Mike I haven't used the Spro frogs,I use the snagproof perfect frog and have so for many years In my opinon its the best frog out on the market bar none Its design and action is awsome and we use the best components avalible Try one and I think this will solve your issuses Here's a coulple of tips Use an 8ft heavy action rod with 60lb braid, do not wait to feel the the fish Swing as soon as she blows up on it with a little timing you should see great results Also pull the hooks out and wrap some braid around the hook to stop them from spreading, this will improve solid penetration once you have them on do not drop your rod Hammer 'em and keep reeling!
