Podcast celebrates 100th episode

“The Edge” the companion audio program to Bass Edge television, posted its 100th podcast on March 13th.

“It’s hard to believe,” said Aaron Martin, host of Bass Edge TV and co-host with Steve Brigman on the podcast. “I remember what an effort it was to put together the best show possible in the beginning, and now I can’t wait each week to record another one.”

As part of the centennial celebration, top professional anglers made cameo appearances to wish the guys a happy 100th. “Is Steve 100?” Elite veteran Denny Brauer kidded. Also offering their best wishes were Boyd Duckett, Davy Hite, Jared Lintner and Brian Snowden. A special prize package was awarded to a Dubuque, Iowa, listener that included all of the Bass Edge branded products.

“The Edge” debuted on iTunes on March 31, 2007. Martin was joined by co-host “Outdoors Dan,” Young, a St. Louis outdoor radio personality popular throughout the Midwest. From the beginning, the show format included interviews with the top names in professional bass fishing, including Mike Iaconelli, Rick Clunn, Denny Brauer, Skeet Reese, Aaron Martens and dozens of others. The show’s emphasis is the latest in bass fishing techniques, but also includes a weekly prize giveaway and “Ask the Pro.”

In November 2008, Bass Edge publishing editor and producer Steve Brigman joined Aaron on the show.

“By the time I came along, Aaron and Dan had set the bar so high that I was a little intimidated,” Brigman recalled. “But now it’s a labor of love. I especially like the interaction we have with younger anglers through the podcast.”
