What kind of main line do you recommend for Carolina rigging in clear water with lots of rocks and brush. Would you go with braid or fluorocarbon, or mono? What about the leader line?

Answer:
That's a great question and the answer will depend on personal preference, my preference because of the rock would be 14 to 17lb Vicious co-polymer with 12 to 14lb fluorocarbon as a leader. The reason is the castability.  Please understand the weakest link theory, even if you use braid as the main line your leader is still 12lb test. I would be concerned about using 12lb on a lake like Amistad but you should be fine if you set your drag and pay attention to your line, remember if the fish gets in a bush often you can get them out without man-handling them, give him a little then pull back, a lot times this will work.
