Whats the best way to attach a trailer hook to a jig and a spinnerbait?

Answer:
I normally purchase a package trailer hooks that come with the plastic surgical tubing to use on my spinnerbaits but I don't use a secondary hook on my jigs. Since the eye of the trailer hook is large enough to slide over the barb of your spinnerbait, it will come off easily and potential fowl the action of the bait if not secured in some way, this is where the tubing comes into play. I cut off a short piece and slide it over the eye of the trailer hook then slide the trailer hook on to the main hook. This will keep the trailer hook fastened to the bait and prevent it from fowling the blade action. I also suggest using a red hook!
